I used to be much bigger - I lost 5 stone by dieting and exercising! (See some of my photos!) I used to have a really sweet tooth and used to love chocolate, cakes and biscuits! I'd been on lots of 'fad' diets and lost weight in the past but never kept it off for very long. Part of my transformation was taking control of my lifestyle, my diet, my fitness and my health but by far the biggest part was group fitness classes. These were really what gave me the motivation to lose weight and shape up.


I remember when I finally plucked up the courage to go to my first fitness class in the studio (a friend had to drag me in!) I was petrified! I had no idea back then just HOW much taking that first step into class was going to totally change my life!

I became completely hooked on classes and over a number of years, these classes completely changed my bodyshape, I lost weight and inches, I threw out my size 18 wardrobe and gradually replaced it with a size 8 wardrobe. My legs stopped chaffing together, I lost the cellulite that I had on the top of my arms. My confidence increased, I felt so much happier and had so much more energy than before!

After 6 years of being a participant in classes I decided I wanted to become an Instructor myself so that I could help others achieve the same benefits and goals that I achieved. I trained as a Fitness Instructor at the Southbank Gym, in London. I qualified with YMCAFit and am very proud to say I achieved a 100% pass! Since then I have taught many different types of classes around the Redditch, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Birmingham and Studley areas.

I am an Advanced Les Mills Instructor in: Bodycombat, Bodypump and Bodybalance. I am also qualified in teaching Bodyjam and Clubbercise.

I work full-time in the NHS as a Superintendent Radiographer and I totally love teaching classes in my spare time!

I love the music, the atmosphere, the energy and the fun of a group fitness class. It’s brilliant the way classes are designed to be suitable for every one of every fitness level and I see people of all ages and fitness levels joining in. Watching peoples body shapes transform over time is extremely rewarding. I love seeing people grow in confidence and its great seeing people working out hard whilst having fun, and in the classes there is always a buzz of camaraderie and support for each other. A group fitness environment pushes you to work much harder in a class than in the gym. That feeling that you can’t give in because everyone around you is giving it their max and is suffering too is a real motivator!

Teaching classes is my absolute passion, I totally love it!
